Already have a blog and have started writing? Great! We can all agree that blogging is an important part of content marketing. Blogging principles are even useful for those who are not selling a product or service. Today I have 22 blogging tips for you who have already started writing, and are no longer considered a beginner among Norwegian bloggers.
Some of this advice is related to SEO, but this post is written so that it does not require any prior knowledge of the SEO subject. For those of you who have not yet started the blog, we have a previous blog post that explains what a blog is.
Perhaps you will rise in the ranks after reading this post. The blog tips are divided into three categories: Cadet, Sergeant and Captain. To get started, you can press the right level.
Three – off!
Blogging Tips for the Cadet (Beginner)
The first six tips are for you who have just started shaping the blog. As a cadet, you are at the very beginning and have mostly theoretical knowledge to familiarize yourself with. But don’t despair! Before you know it, you’re throwing yourself into battle and gaining valuable experience from friends and foes alike.
CONTENTS (FORCADETES):
- Build identity with your content!
- Blog high quality content!
- Make the blog easy to understand for the target audience
- Stick to the topic in the text!
- What should I write about in the blog?
- “All” authors need proofreading
1. Build identity with your content
If you haven’t already established an identity, you should do so. A blog that has a clear “voice” will be easier and more enjoyable to read. Think about the words and expressions used, and how formal the language should be. Remember that design on photos can also be part of the identity. You don’t have to be a designer to pull this off. Maybe you choose to have a “Matrix” green tint on all your photos? It will be something people notice.
To find your identity, you can start from your interests. Maybe they can be combined in an unusual way? What are the core values of the blog if there are any? Which topics should you have an opinion on, and which should you be neutral about? For example, strong political opinions can provoke.
Creating a concept can also be a natural part of a blog’s identity. Concepts that run like a red thread through the blog can make the content appear more “familiar and dear” to the reader. You can find more about what a concept is here .
Once you find your identity, stick to it. It is actually easier to write when you have a clear identity, expression and concept. This places limits on what you can write about and how you should express yourself in the blog.
2. Blog high quality content!
Content is among the most important ranking factors. Google has said that they put the user experience in focus, and the other search engines will have to follow in Google’s footsteps if they are to survive.
What high-quality content entails can be a difficult question to answer because it depends on what kind of content you produce and what the goal of the content is. Not to mention what Google interprets as the purpose of the content. To get a better understanding of this, we wrote a blog post that explains to you what Google itself says about quality content.
It is not just about typos, well-formulated sentences, nice design and user-friendliness. If you have a humor blog and make people laugh, the job can be done. If, on the other hand, people laugh at your super-serious military blog, it may indicate that you do not have as much knowledge as you thought about the Norwegian military.
WhatsApp is a popular communication whatsapp number database medium, known to billions of users around the world. Many people in the world have now started using WhatsApp. WhatsApp provides good services to users in terms of text, voice, video calls, and file sharing. While using it, privacy and security should be taken care of. Business organizations use WhatsApp for acquiring new customers or for various tasks. Using number database.
3. Make the blog easy to understand for the target audience!
Just how important it is to write simply depends of course on your target audience. Generally speaking, one should not exclude entire target groups by choosing complex language. The identity you choose will guide which target groups you include and exclude. The language should hit these target groups.
Simply written texts also have SEO value in an indirect way. Somewhat simplified, you can say that the more minutes your post is read, the better ranking Google will give it. In other words, complicated writing will cause your readers to click away from the post, and then it will not rank well either.
This about writing simply may sound a bit obvious, but it can be more difficult to write simply about a complex subject than the other way around. A rule of thumb is that you should write so that a pupil from secondary school can follow what you write. Blog as short sentences as possible without it becoming banal! Try to use simple words instead of complex words!
In good blogs, you will often see that the text is formatted optimally with plenty of space between paragraphs and an inviting layout. Use a font size and font that is easy to read.
Right – about!
4. Stick to the topic of the text
Remember what you are actually writing about! A good rule of thumb is that all your subheadings (h2) are directly relevant to the heading of the entire post (h1). You can think of the main heading as a question to be answered. Then the sub-headings (h2) become smaller, more detail-oriented sub-questions that should illuminate the main question. The reason this is important has to do with SEO.
5. What should I write about in the blog?Do you find it difficult to find topics to write about in your blog? That doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t creative. It may simply mean that you have not defined your identity or target group well enough for your blog posts. Maybe you don’t use analysis tools either. These will give you a clue as to what people are searching for and what you should write about.
The heels – together!
A quick tip I would like to share with you is to write down and systematize the ideas you get along the way. You often remember less than you think.
Another tip that new bloggers often don’t know is that even if you’ve written about a topic before, it doesn’t mean you can’t write about it again. There are countless angles to take on a given subject.
Maybe next week I could write a post called: “22 SEO tips for blog cadet to blog captain”. The title would be quite similar, but the content would be quite different. It would have been no problem to find completely new points to explore for such a post.
Do you lack creativity? We at Compile can help you with that . Just look here: The theory and practice behind the creative process . Of course, it is important to implement creative writing correctly. Do you think the analogy with the military went too far? Why? Why not?
6. “All” authors need proofreading
Many people believe that the better you become this launch is the culmination of nearly a year of … as a writer, the less help you get. In most cases it is the other way around. Someone who writes in a pink blog may not have anyone proofreading at all. In comparison, almost no professional writer writes without a team of consultants who perform analysis, feedback and finally proofread.
While professional help is beneficial, using a friend for feedback is better than none at all. The reason for this is that most people view their own work subjectively and struggle to see their own content with “objective eyes”.
Blog tips for the sergeant (advance)As a sergeant, you have gained a little more responsibility and experience. Now it’s time to take the basic skills to a new level and become a role model for other bloggers. You should not only know the theory, but also how things work in practice.

1. Responsive design and mobile devices are becoming more important
We have to start with some rather boring technical criteria. Relax; I only include the most important ones.
From 1 July 2019, Google introduced “mobile first”, which means that user interface, design and loading time are given extra importance on mobile devices.
In addition, it is important that your blog is ao lists displayed well in the most important browsers. In Norway, Chrome has approx. 52% of the market. Safari has around 33%, while Edge is down to approx. 5% ( source ). Therefore, make sure that your blog looks optimal for the most important devices in these browsers.
2. Be as personal as possibleIn contrast to a non-fiction text, or non-fiction, a blog post should have a more personal touch. Okay, let’s look at some different angles to this point.
Stories captivate, you’ve surely heard. Why? Yes, we identify with people or events in history.
Precisely: Personal .
Okay, you don’t believe it? To summarize “Personal Selling” by Neels Van Heerden : Selling is about communication. To communicate well, you must understand the needs of the person you are communicating with. So; you need to get to know the person a little.
Again: Personal .
When we wrote the Content Marketing Guide, we did a survey of available research on the effect of content marketing in relation to traditional marketing. Do you know what sold the best? Yes, you guessed right.
Once again: Content that was personal.
Compile.no and Leadjabber.no have a collaboration where we send out outreach emails to the Norwegian business community. What type of emails do you think we get the best response to? Ok, you get the point…
Keep your friends close, your customers closer!
3. Use keywords for more traffic
If you are going to get the hang of keywords, you must carry out a keyword analysis. To ensure that the data you collect is as reliable as possible, you must use a tool such as Ahrefs or SEMrush. Hubspot has a beginner’s guide to keyword analysis to get you started.
4. Fill the CMS with meta informationHere is a blog tip that you may be partially familiar with? CMS (content management system) is the platform you use to display your website. Most such user interfaces allow you to enter meta information. The term means “information about information”; i.e. information about your blog posts:
Meta descriptionThe descriptive text that appears in a Google search (SERP). Add it to the backend of your publishing platform.
Meta description for imagesImages also have a text that explains what we see in which context. For more information about this, you can contact our teacher BruSEO Lee. He guides you through all the text for pictures .Using Schema can provide a more complete and detailed meta description.
